DOES VUCIC TALK TO DACIC UNTIL THE END OF THE WEEK? Serbia probably got a concentration government

The president of Serbia and the leader of the SNS, Aleksandar Vučić, and Ivica Dačić, the head of the SPS, should meet later this week to continue negotiations on the future government, Kurir has learned.

The sessions of the SNS presidency and the main party board are due to be held at the end of this week (including the weekend), and the Socialists expect the same meetings of the party organs in the coming days, before the final agreement on the future composition of the government.

– Vučić and Dačić will meet these days, apparently at the end of this week. The topic of conversation will, of course, be the formation of a new government. The plan is to hold sessions of the presidency and the main board of the SNS by the end of this week, which could be approximately Friday or Sunday, says the source of our newspaper and adds:

– The Socialists will also have sessions of the presidency and the main board these days, and will follow after the talks with Vučić. The additional plan is that after the sessions of the SNS party organs, that is, during the next week, a session of the Assembly of Serbia will be scheduled, in which the President of the Assembly, the Secretary General and the the Vice-Presidents. Then, in late September, as Vučić has repeatedly announced, a new government will be formed.

According to the sociologist Vladimir Vuletic, it is certain that we will obtain a new government within the legal term.

Three scenarios

– The highest probability is currently a concentration government. So these options have a similar probability: SNS independently, then SNS and Spas, then SNS-SPS, Vuletić said.

Political analyst Jelena Vukoicic says that for Serbia, due to the difficult situation the country is in, a broader coalition would be better.

– However, if the SPS and Spas entered the government, together with the minorities, all the participants would pass the census and there would be no opposition in the Assembly. It’s hard for me to imagine something like that. If we look at each one individually, Spas would bring something new, changes are always welcome, while the SPS is a long-term partner, but there is a lot of controversy about their actions and relationship with the SNS. That is a burden they have and now it is up to the SNS to make a decision. Will they decide on a new option or a former partner whose officials have shown a bad attitude towards the SNS on several occasions, and there are also scandals related to its members? – Vukoičić stated.

According to our source from the top of the government, the session of the Assembly in which the new leadership will be elected is not yet scheduled, because it is necessary to reach an agreement at the level of parliamentary groups on who will be the candidates for vice presidents.

The race for parliament

– For that an agreement is needed between the parties that entered parliament. It is not excluded that someone from the minority parties obtains the position of vice presidential – says our interlocutor.

And the spears to the leadership position of parliament, about which Kurir wrote, are being broken between three candidates from the ranks of the SNS: Marija Obradović, Vladimir Orlić and Vladimir Marinković.

Aleksandar Šapić, the leader of Spas, was elected president of the New Belgrade Municipal Assembly. However, this appointment does not exclude the possibility that Shapic will be mayor again; if that happens, he would resign from his current position and be elected to the next.
