They intend to intensify the initiative for the unitarization of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the abolition of the Republika Srpska in the Balkans, and that is even more difficult for them than pressure on Serbia to recognize the so-called Kosovo.
This is warned by the professor of international law at the University of Banja Luka, Dr. Srdja Trifkovic, who affirms that Washington’s policy for the abolition of the Republika Srpska can be expected.
Trifković recalls that even before the elections in America, Biden found it necessary to address Bosnians, that is, Americans of Bosnian origin, with a message explicitly advocating the Dayton review and the obligation to recognize the so-called genocide in Srebrenica. The implication would be more than clear: the abolition of the Republika Srpska.
Biden’s agenda: unitary Bosnia and Herzegovina, abolition of Srpska
– Similar voices have been heard on your team for a long time, and I’m thinking of Antonio Blinken, who is the new Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. It also insists that Bosnia and Herzegovina will have to become a functional state in which the one man, one vote principle applies. It is interesting to insist on that principle for multi-ethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for the former RFSY to insist on the opposite, that is, in the republican referenda, which, of course, led in the direction of disintegration, the professor points out.
The reason I’m concerned, Professor Trifković adds, is the fact that they believe they could do everything quickly and painlessly.
– For them, it should be a demonstration exercise of Russian impotence, where at the same time activating the powers of Bonn for the liquidation of the RS leadership and imposing brutal measures, the restoration of mutual trust between Washington and Brussels would be demonstrated . The RS sale would be hailed as a commendable trophy and as America’s return to the stage in this area in full swing – he explains.
Black scenario: NATO forces in Brcko district
At the same time, the professor adds, there could be military shifts for the sake of “establishing order”, including disrupting continuity in the Brcko district.
– For example, the deployment of NATO forces in Brcko would interrupt the transit between the western part of RS and the eastern part, that is, Krajina and Banja Luka. That would be another form of pressure … – Trifković emphasizes.
He warns that Serbs must not be lulled by false hopes:
– RS’s position is now more vulnerable than in 1992, because then it had its own army, and today, unfortunately, there is no efficient reserve force of police forces that can counteract such scenarios – he says.
Trifkovic does not rule out the possibility of staging some incidents to pressure the abolition of the RS, as we have seen in the Racak case or with Saddam’s famous weapon.
Professor Trifković notes that he expressed everything he said from personal knowledge and contacts with his connections in Washington.
