Doctors are intensely monitoring Patriarch Irinej’s state of health, this is how he is currently feeling

– The patriarch still does not present any symptoms of coronavirus. Had he not traveled to Podgorica where he served at the funeral of Blessed Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Litoral, Amfilohije, he would not have been tested because there was no indication that it was positive. As the test showed that yes, at our insistence, they kept him in the hospital because the man is 90 years old and we did not want anything unpredictable to happen. We are calm like this because it is under the watchful eye of the best doctors, and each change is monitored to avoid possible unforeseen complications – says Mgr. Stefan.

He adds that in addition to the patriarch, all the bishops and clergy who went from Belgrade to Podgorica were examined and all tested negative.

– All believers and people who care about the patriarch’s health should be calm and at peace because he is in good health and humor. He jokes that it is nothing to him, but that we invented a disease for him so he can take a break. The Serbian Orthodox Church will continue to inform the public about the state of health of the patriarch – says the bishop.
