The High Court of Belgrade will pronounce a new verdict on Wednesday 23 December against Branko Sekulović, owner of the company “S komani”, in which he murdered three young men 13 years ago, which he claims extorted him.
This will be the second first instance verdict against Sekulović, as the first, which sentenced him to 35 years in prison for triple murder, was overturned by the Court of Appeals and ordered a repeat trial.
You will also have the right to appeal the new verdict to the Court of Appeal.
In the final arguments held in today’s trial, the Prosecutor’s Office requested that he be severely punished for the crime of aggravated homicide and that his detention be extended.
On the other hand, the defense demanded Sekulovic’s release, alleging that there was no evidence that he had committed a triple murder and that forensics had determined that no weapon had been fired from the one Sekulovic legally possessed.
Sekulović is accused of killing Vladimir Samardžić Globus (29), Dušan Pejović (24) and Darko Živanović (22), alias Žika Šumadinac, at the office of his company “S kompani” in Vidikovac on September 28, 2007.
After the murder, he was on the run for nine years until October 22, 2016, when he was arrested at the Brod border crossing between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia with a false passport in the name of Mario Trivan and his photograph.
He was then extradited to Serbia and is in custody.
The media previously wrote that the triple murder was due to unresolved financial transactions, because Samardzic, Pejovic and Zivkovic allegedly asked him to pay the money they gave him with interest.
