The famous handball player Dragan Škrbić (52), a former member of the Yugoslav national team, was arrested and detained after the communal police interrupted his sister’s birthday party around one o’clock yesterday morning.
As Kurir finds out, after they rang the bell, he behaved very arrogantly towards them. Drunk, he yelled at the communal policemen: “Do you know who I am?” He ruthlessly insulted them. They did not want to interrupt the party where there was live music with keyboardist and speakers. The communal militiamen were forced to call in a police patrol for support. But Skrbic did not hesitate to verbally attack them. He refused to give them an identification card for identification.
– The whole building was screaming from his scream when the communal workers arrived. It was horrible to hear it in the dead of night. I can’t say that no one woke up, because no one could fall asleep as long as the music was playing and his song was echoing before. I don’t know which of the neighbors reported it, but Skrbic really exaggerated. They are not apartments for these types of festivities, especially not at the time of the crown, when so many people get sick and when a score of them die from that virus every day. Such behavior, especially yelling at the police, is truly unacceptable for a man who was even the best handball player in the world! Athletes should serve as an example, not like that. Sorry! – One of the tenants we met yesterday in front of the entrance of the building on Karlovačka Street told us.

He explained to us that no one actually lives in that apartment:
– It is the apartment of his sister and his son-in-law and only sometimes they come to ventilate it. So far they have not caused any problems. Here, all the way to this party.
As a source familiar with the case told us, after the situation calmed down, the former athlete, his sister and his son-in-law underwent a breathalyzer test and were detained for arrest at the police station.
Dragan Skrbic issued a statement late yesterday in which he affirmed that there was no organized party and that he did not insult the policemen, but on the contrary, that he was insulted by one of them.
