The trial of the president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SAA), Dragan Djilas, was postponed after the report by the Serbian Interior Ministry for violating the driving ban during the curfew, and Djilas told reporters in front of the court Belgrade that would not pay the fine if the court prescribed it.
The president of the SAA was subpoenaed in court to rule on the report for violating the driving ban during the curfew during the state of emergency.
At that time, a large number of people gathered in Vracar in a sign of support, because “Djilas, thieves” were released by the loudspeaker near the building where his children live.
“The search was postponed due to legal deficiencies in the report presented by the Serbian Interior Ministry.” The court will request additional notes, which will be delivered to us, so the trial will continue at the next hearing, and that hearing will be scheduled later, “H1 quoted Djilas in front of the court.
When asked by journalists if he would not pay fines and go to prison, Djilas answered affirmatively.
“How can I pay a fine for coming to prevent someone from broadcasting that song and my children crying about it? It is not an amount that cannot be paid, but it is a matter of principle ”, explained the president of the SAA.
