NOVI SAD – Dimitrije S. (43) from Novi Sad, arrested two days ago after injuring a police inspector in Novi Sad, is accused by the Novi Sad High Prosecutor’s Office, among other criminal acts, of attempted aggravated homicide of two police officers.
“There is a suspicion that he committed several criminal acts in the acquisition, including the crime of attempted aggravated homicide to the detriment of two policemen,” the prosecution said for Tanjug.
However, the suspect has not yet been questioned because he was hospitalized at the Vojvodina Clinical Center.
The prosecution notes that it is not yet known when he will be questioned, since the suspect was transferred to the KCV after committing the criminal act to provide him with medical assistance. They point out that they still do not have information on his state of health and planned discharge from treatment.
The prosecution did not provide other information about this case.
The injured inspector was also hospitalized and it is not known who the other injured police officer is.
Novi Sad police said Wednesday that they had arrested 43-year-old Dimitrija S. on suspicion of seriously injuring a criminal police inspector with a screwdriver.
The DS is suspected of assaulting an off-duty inspector during the search, but tried to prevent him from stealing a car in the Salajka settlement.
