Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina should resemble BLAGICA AND FADILA FRIENDSHIP

That humanity knows no borders, neither ethnic, nor religious, nor war, is living proof of the Albanian Fadil Rama (54) and the Serbian Blagica Dicic, ninety-two years old.

The barely moving old woman is the sole inhabitant of the abandoned village of Vaganes in eastern Kosovo and Metohija, but regardless, she has traveled the entire planet. Together with his “third son”, he became a worldly man. What everyone is talking about.

Blagica and Fadil show what the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina should be like with a personal example every week, and so on for years, for decades.

Enough for the world’s major media outlets like “Associated Press”, “Washington Post”, “ABS News” and others to start talking about that friendship, care and attention … Unfortunately, Blagica did not need the pandemic from kovida 19 to find out what it means to live in isolation.

The brave old woman has been living alone in her dilapidated brick house for three years, ever since her youngest son Slobodan left her, who moved to nearby Kosovska Kamenica with his immobile wife.

George’s eldest heir lives in Belgrade, but, as reported by “AP”, he does not have a room in the Serbian capital to marry his mother. Blagica does not remember the last time she saw George, while Slobodan rarely visits him.

Before the war in Kosovo, more than 200 people lived in his village of Vagnes, 45 kilometers from Pristina. And they all left. No more drinking water.

The only guardian of life in this devastated place is Blagica. Fortunately, there is someone else to take care of her. Albanian Fadil Rama visits her twice a week from the neighboring village of Strezovce.

He brings her food, water, cooks for her, prepares the house, chops wood, makes fire, talks, gets together … Like a true heir.

– I don’t have two children but three. Fadil is one of them. He brings me food, he takes care of me – emphasizes Blagica for “AP”.

If it were not for Fadila, the poor old woman does not know how she would live with her pension of only 60 euros. Until a month ago, he was in good health, but since then he has weakened and hardened.

The ruined house has only a bed, a blanket and a “Smederevo” stove. But when her “third child” arrived, her house was full.

Fadil met her when he was a child and when she gave him and other children in Strezovac sweets. Now, as a small shop owner, he just gives her back that attention, care and love.

– Blagica was such a good woman. During and after the war, he viewed us all as his children. When I found out that she was left alone, I was very saddened and wanted to reward her for all the good deeds, says Fadil for “AP”.

As he says, the politicians in Belgrade and Pristina are not interested in such a story and the good relations between Albanians and Serbs.

The human man thinks that there is nothing strange in the fact that, as a Muslim and Albanian, he helps an old Serbian Orthodox woman. His Strezovac neighbors agree with that.

– Help an older woman? Serbian women? And that? That’s good for him – said two of Fadil’s neighbors in the voice of “AP”.

Fadil also informed the local shepherds that a poor old woman lives in Vaganes, so, as he says, they also visit her from time to time and bring her water and other necessities.

As for himself, he promised Blagica’s son Slobodan that he would take care of her for the rest of his life.

– I will never leave her alone – promised the big-hearted Albanian by “AP”.
