Dejan Ivanović (45) from Slatina near Kruševac killed his father Stanislav Ivanović (71) with an ax. A forgotten crime occurred on Monday morning, when they went to cut firewood, the Belgrade media write.

This bloody crime occurred in the courtyard of the family weekend house in Slatina, after a short fight between the son and the father while, according to the locals, they cut firewood. At one point, Dejan drew his ax and then attacked his father, inflicting severe and soon-to-be fatal head injuries, of which Stanislav died shortly after.
Krusevac police arrived early at the crime scene and arrested Dejan on suspicion of murder, and he will be brought before the competent senior prosecutor in Krusevac for questioning within the legal deadline, along with a criminal report.
Shocked by the crime that rocked this area, residents of Slatina, a quiet town near Kruševac, say they did not know Ivanović very well, because they only came to his cabin occasionally. The motives for the murder, at least for now, are only speculated.
– We did not know them well, nor did we go out. They left Krusevac wine when this all started with the crown. I’m not sure if he lost his job or something else, but I think it was rumored that he recently got divorced. His father Stanislav came a day or two ago. Nobody knows what happened between them, but the scene in the courtyard was horrible – says a resident of Slatina.
