The actor Branislav Lecic will deliver documentation to the Ministry of State Administration tomorrow so that he can register with the Business Records Agency as president of the Democratic Party. Yesterday, at the party assembly, he was elected president by a part of the DS that does not support the formal president Zoran Lutovac. Lutovac said since that meeting that the DS would not be Aleksandar Vučić’s favorite opponent.
The attempts to dissolve the Democratic Party have been happening since June 3, 2018, that is, on the first business day of Zoran Lutovac, as president in the past, the first man of that political organization still affirms, formally.
“The only elections in which Aleksandar Vučić did not win are the internal party elections in the DS in 2018, and since then we have been a constant target of attempts to take over the DS or at least destabilize it,” says Lutovac.
He cites the understanding of politics and the way it should be conducted as key points of contention between himself and current actor Branislav Lecic. His leadership and membership are, he assures, for the public good and they, he says, see politics as business. Furthermore, he accuses them of openly supporting the main political opponent: Aleksandar Vučić.

The day before, Lecic was elected the new president of the DS by his delegates in the Assembly.
