Aleksandar Šarac (35), who was shot twice in the garage of the New Belgrade shopping center, has long been known to the Serbian public, as in January 2019 he was the target of the professional assassin Čaba Dera.

On January 5, 2019, Der appeared in front of his home in Banovo brdo in a white car. However, instead of Sharc, who was supposed to go to training, his son-in-law Nebojsa Markovic left the house.

The killer did not see the difference between the two men, but he approached Markovic, who at the time was putting a stroller in the car, laughed at him and fired several shots with a silencer pistol.

It later emerged that Alexander was followed by the professional assassin Chaba Der, who was responsible for several murders around the world.

Čaba Der was arrested in March 2019 in Prague, a few months after the cold-blooded murder of Nebojša Marković at Banovo brdo in Belgrade. During the arrest, he had forged documents, weapons, but also a wig and masking equipment, which is why it is believed that he was preparing a new crime.

He was detained at the Amadeus Hotel, where he rented a room. After his arrest, he was extradited to Hungary, which was looking for him on suspicion that he killed businessman Laszlo V. in Budapest in September 2018.

Der is still in prison in Hungary, and who it was who ordered Sharc’s assassination remains unknown to the public to this day.

He said he “had no choice but to carry out the murder.” He also added that the driver of the car he left that day in Banovo brdo “did not know his plan, that he was shocked after the murder and that after that they took different paths.

In addition, Sarac was serving a prison sentence for illegally carrying weapons.

Aleksandar Šarac is also believed to have been attacked on 7 August 2018, when a bomb was thrown at the house on Rajka od Rasine street, the former basketball player Vukašin Vule Avdalović, who lived next to him. Avdalović’s car was damaged in the explosion. It was suspected that the former Partizan player was not the target, but his neighbor Sharac, and that the bomb was dropped due to the division of the loot from the robbery of a jewelry store in Italy. The identity of the attacker, and after that, the motive for that attack have not been revealed to this day.

As a reminder, today’s shooting occurred around 4:40 p.m. and the attacker dropped his weapon while fleeing the scene. The police are working hard to clear up this crime.
