BELGRADE / SHANGHAI – At the China International Import Fair “China International Import Expo” (CIIE), which will be held in Shanghai until November 10, 12 companies from Serbia will present themselves, announced the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia

The fair was traditionally opened by the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, delivered the following words through a video link:

Dear friends, Serbia is proud of its friendship with the People’s Republic of China. We are proud to be the PRC’s best friend in Europe, but we are also glad that we have a great and sincere friend in China. I am pleased to say today that, for the third year in a row, Serbia is participating in the Shanghai EXPO, that for the third year in a row we are participating in promoting the best of the world economy. I am happy that even in the year of the pandemic, Serbia and China saw a 30 percent increase in their trade. I know that Serbia is not a large country, neither in terms of number of inhabitants nor in terms of territory, but Serbia is great in terms of its heart and its friendship with the People’s Republic of China.

The idea of ​​”Belt and Road” is an idea that was spread to the world by Chinese President Xi Jinping, an idea that Serbia approached with all its heart. An idea that Serbia believes in. The idea of ​​uniting peoples. As President Xi has already said, that Chinese civilization has always advocated for peace and harmony between nations, that is why Serbia thinks that peace and stability, an agreement between people and nations, is what our community should build. in the future. I thank the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, for using his authority to help Serbia in the most difficult moments and to send economically its investors, the people who today take care of the Serbian hardware store, and the HBIS GROUP of Hebei, but also Zi. Gin, who takes care of our copper mine.

I am also grateful to the President for the exceptional work of his companies in developing infrastructure in Serbia, from the railway to Budapest, to numerous regional roads and highways. We can and must do much more together. I am also grateful for the great support during the Covid-19 pandemic, when there was little help from either side, our Chinese friends were there and we will never forget.

I just want to say that I am sorry that the representatives of the Republic of Serbia cannot attend, on the Huangpu River in Shanghai, the opening of the EXPO, but I am sure that in the coming years we will only deepen our cooperation and sincere friendship.

Long live the steel friendship between Serbia and the People’s Republic of China! Long live China, long live Serbia!

In the food hall, our companies presented their products in a 200 square meter stand.

The fair, organized by the Government of China and the China International Bureau of Import and Export, is a good platform on which Serbia can present its economic potential and our companies can position themselves in the Chinese market, the PKS said in a statement.

It is added that in the two previous fairs in Shanghai, companies from Serbia offered frozen raspberries, nuts, tortillas, fruit juices, wine that has already reached Chinese consumers.
