The Belgrade Court of Appeal sentenced Alen Metović (38) to 12 years in prison because in July 2017, drunk in a park in Voždovac, he beat math teacher Danilo Bogdanov (37) to death after they quarreled over more than 5,000 dinars.
– This decision confirmed the first instance verdict of the Belgrade High Court, by which Metović was convicted of the crime of murder, as recorded in the verdict published on the website of the Court of Appeals.
Metović was convicted because on July 1, 2017, in the Vodžovac park, as stated, in a state of simple severe alcohol intoxication, as a result of which his ability to understand the significance of crime and the ability to administer procedures were significantly reduced, killed the wounded Danilo Bogdanov. .
The murder came after Metovic, who according to the media was homeless, Bogdanov and SM drank alcohol together. Then there was a dispute between the defendant and Bogdanov over 5,000 dinars, which Bogdanov allegedly owed Metović.
Then, Metović hit Bogdanov on the head with at least three hits, he fell to the ground and continued to shoot him in the head, causing fatal injuries.
After, as written in the verdict, Bogdanov passed away, Metović dragged his body to a nearby mattress, where, according to the media, he normally slept in a nearby park.
