The teaching-scientific council of the Belgrade Faculty of Economics decided today that Professor Danica Popović will not give lectures on the subject of International Economics next semester, confirmed Branislav Boričić, dean of that higher education institution, for Danas.

This decision was made unanimously, at the suggestion of the main department and the teaching commission, and after the Board of Professional Ethics of the University of Belgrade rejected Danica Popović’s appeal, writes Danas.

According to the document, he complained to the Board as a second instance body because the Faculty issued a public reprimand for the non-academic behavior established when translating international economics textbooks, because it did not list the late Professor Stojan Babić, with whom he translated the edition. previous.

Boricic says Popovic will continue to teach the remaining two exams in undergraduate studies. The next step that the Faculty will take is to include the name of Stojan Babić in the imprint of the aforementioned textbook, considering that he is the co-editor and co-translator of the text.

After that, the faculty should compensate the family of the late Babić, but the amount of the fee has yet to be determined.

At today’s NN council session, Boricic read a public warning to Professor Dragan Djuricin.

He was sentenced to this measure for his non-academic behavior, since as one of the members of the commission for the review and defense of the doctoral thesis of the Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, he did not condemn plagiarism.

The complaint against Đuričin was presented to the Ethics Commission of the Faculty of Economics by a group of professors from the University of Belgrade.

Since no one appealed the first instance decision, it became final, and the dean’s obligation was to read that decision publicly at the Council session.
