The President of the Serbian Assembly, Ivica Dačić, announced today that in ten days, MPs in plenary will discuss this year’s report from the European Commission on Serbia’s progress in the European integration process.
Dacic told TV Pink that the next phase of the inter-party dialogue will continue next year and next week he will have a telephone conversation with the chairman of the European Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee, David McAllister.
He said that parliament is now working according to regular procedure, there are no emergencies and sessions are scheduled seven days in advance.
The law “stays” in parliamentary committees for at least 15 days, because when tomorrow it is in full swing, and the committees do not discuss it in a certain way, Dacic said.
By the end of December, at midnight on December 29, when the regular period of sessions ends, we will have four more sessions, a set of economic laws and the sector of the state administration, he said.
Dacic said that a proposal for constitutional changes in the judiciary had reached parliament.
Once the regular session is over, the Constitutional Affairs Commission will begin to consider that text, and that period will not be shorter. We are going to change the Constitution, and that includes a referendum, Dacic explained.
There are no other changes to the Constitution except those on the part of the judiciary, Dacic noted when asked whether Kosovo and Metohija are still part of the preamble to the Constitution.
The referendum, even after the referendum, is the proclamation of those changes, that process continues, but it advances. Those activities will begin in the coming weeks, Dacic estimated.
