The President of the Serbian Assembly, Ivica Dačić, said that this institution has nothing to do with the prices of drinks and food in the Assembly’s restaurant and that it does not determine them.
When asked if the modification of the low prices in that restaurant was foreseen by the budget rebalancing, Dacic replied that the prices are determined by the Joint Affairs Directorate of the Bodies of the Republic.
“The assembly has nothing to do with it, the deputies in particular …”, Dacic told Prva TV.
He thinks that it is not good that the administration has not declared itself so far, nor has it made any announcement about the prices of food and drinks in the parliamentary restaurant.
“It is easier for them to direct their attention to the Assembly,” Dacic said, adding that restaurants in state institutions are treated as internal clubs that have no right to earn money. That, as he said, means they sell food and drink at purchase prices.
Citizens and the media have long published objections to very low prices in the restaurant of the National Assembly, which they consider inappropriately small in relation to the income of the deputies and other people who use that restaurant. They also share their discontent on social media, where they also post photos from their accounts.
