More than two months after the end of the local elections, the majority of the Belgrade municipalities have been given leadership. For now, six mayors who will hold that position for the first time will respond to the new challenges and tasks, while seven of them have been re-elected. Zemun, Surcin, Vracar and New Belgrade should also have municipal leaders in the coming days.
All the presidents elected so far come from the ranks of the Serbian Progressive Party, and it appears that the same will happen in the four remaining municipalities. For progressives, this function could “escape” only in New Belgrade, where, due to the counting of votes and the extension of the deadlines, the constitutive session of the Assembly has not yet taken place.
Of this party, they estimated that the majority of the presidents of the city’s municipalities justified the trust placed in them, so that seven of them will once again find themselves in the same positions, and the absolute record holder in the number of re-elections among them is the president. from Sopot, Živorad Milosavljević alias Tito. He recently counts his jubilee, tenth term as head of the municipality.
For now, there is only one lady at the head of the municipality, Ivana Tomić Ilić, who became president of the municipality of Voždovac a few days ago.
Čukarica
The councilors once again expressed their confidence in the current president of this municipality, Srdjan Kolarić, and extended his mandate for another four years. In addition to the councilors of the SNS, Kolarić also received the support of the representatives of the SPS and the SPAS, who will participate in the government with the Progressives in the next term.

Palilula
Another town council president who was trusted again, Aleksandar Jovicic. At the suggestion of Jovicic, Darko Paunovic was elected vice president of the municipality of Palilula at the head of the list “Aleksandar Shapic – victory of Palilula”.
– In the past four years there have been many misfortunes, floods and there is a crown. Everything you’ve been waiting for the last 40 years, we hope will be fixed. This will not be a fixed position of the Assembly, and we will make a cut for six months. We will have to work to justify why we were chosen. If we are not good, we must retire and leave it to the best – said Jovicic, who was the only candidate.

Sava crown
The new president of Savski Venac is Milos Vidovic. He succeeded the current president, Irena Vujović, in this position, who will probably take up a new position in the next term.
– I want to thank Irena Vujović for the confidence indicated. I was part of her team for four years, I know how dedicated she was. It won’t be easy for me to get your results. Our priority in the future will be to get even closer to the citizens. The plan is for CSO Savski Venac to remain the epicenter of infrastructure activities – said Vidović.

At the Sopot Municipal Assembly session, which was held on the first day of September, Živorad Milosavljević was elected the first man of the municipality, while his alternate will be Vladan Lukić, a former Red Star soccer player, but also the club president of “Marakana”. Both are from the list of the Serbian Progressive Party.
Živorad Milosavljević, better known as Tito of Sopot, has been in power in this small Belgrade municipality for almost 31 years, and believe it or not, this is his 10th jubilee presidential term!
Sopot’s famous Zika is convincingly the longest-serving Serbian municipality president, as his colleagues can’t even imagine being the head of local self-government for three decades. The progressives of this municipality needed the vote of one of the councilors elected from other lists, and they got it from the councilors of SPS, SPAS and Metla.
Aleksandar Todorović from the SPS list was elected Deputy Mayor.
Lazarevac
Lazarevac is also one of the municipalities that got a new president after the elections. Bojan Stevic was recently elected to that position and replaced Bojan Sindjelic.
