Belgrade Court of Appeal Judge Zoran Savić financed with a business partner the construction of 13 apartments in the center of Kopaonik called “Villa Pahulja”, writes the Crime and Corruption Investigation Network (KRIK).

As indicated in the text, in addition to that investment, Savić and his wife, who is also a judge, already own three apartments in the center of Belgrade and a weekend house near Avala.

“It is not clear how this judicial couple can afford such a valuable property; according to KRIK, the married couple had to save for more than 25 years to be able to acquire it from their salaries,” says the portal.

CRY He adds that Savic’s career has been marked by several controversial court proceedings.

“He chaired the panel that illegally acquitted Stanko Subotic of the cigarette smuggling charges, as determined by the Supreme Court of Cassation. He was also on the panel that upheld the acquittal of Zvonko Veselinovic,” KRIK said.

The portal states that Savić has a salary of around 2,500 euros in the Court of Appeals, since he is in a special department for organized crime, while his wife’s salary is around 1,500 euros, since she judges in the civil department .

“As long as they haven’t spent their winnings on anything else, this pair of judges should save for more than 25 years to buy the real estate they now own,” says KRIK.
