Dr. Goran Stevanović: Don’t indulge yourself at home
Dr. Goran Stevanović, director of the Belgrade Infectious Diseases Clinic, says that the number of hospitalized patients is growing, but also the most difficult ones, who are in intensive care units. He notes that the biggest problem is patients trying to treat themselves at home.
– The percentage of those who self-medicate at home is growing, who think that this can be transmitted by itself. Usually when diagnosed, to avoid hospital treatment, they simply no longer respond. These patients appear to us after five, seven or ten days of home self-treatment and come with a severe clinical picture. Usually after admission, they go to intensive care units and are the most threatened, Stevanović said.
