CRISIS IN DS NEAR THE PEAK? On Saturday, (un) legitimate elections for the party president, and the main competitors continue to be accused of WHO IS “VUČIĆEVAC”

Elections for the new chairman of the Democratic Party will take place on Saturday and the only candidate is current DS Main Board member and former minister Branislav Lecic. These elections are not recognized by Zoran Lutovac and the current party leadership.

4,500 members who paid membership dues in previous weeks will vote in the elections. The vice-presidential candidates will be Dragoslav Šumarac, Vojislav Janković, General Petar Radojičić, Jovana Jovanović and Milica Slijepcević.

In recent weeks, Lecic led an internal party campaign, visited municipal boards and presented his program to them. In the first place, he emphasized the intransigent struggle for the European Union, which implies decentralization and democratization in all segments of society, harmonization of politics with the EU, as a second point, solving the national problem that he sees within the EU. , and as a third point equality, that is, freedom and equal opportunities for everything.

When asked to comment on the statement by the current party chairman Zoran Lutovac that that part of the DS wants to seize the party by force and make it a coalition partner of Aleksandar Vučić, Lečić said:

– If Lutovac decides to implement these points that we said, he is welcome in this team. If Vučić decides to implement the same, then it is not that I am a “Vučić”, but I am absolutely in favor – said Lečić, noting that he doubts that Vučić will do that and added that the DS is fighting the government by making one. man.

These elections will open new divisions and frictions within the party. That is, as after each election in the country, the elections continue in the DS, and the current president Zoran Lutovac did not announce them, the current that is on the other side in relation to him did. After the Main Board session held in Madlenianum, the Organizing Committee for the holding of the elections was formed, chaired by Vida Ognjenović, and the same day the organization of the elections began.

Today there are two streams in the DS. One that organizes the elections and the other that Lutovac leads and that announced a long time ago that it will not recognize the electoral results. Meanwhile, the Lutovac Executive Board expelled four prominent officials from the party’s membership: Balsa Bozovic, Radoslav Milojicic, Slobodan Milosavljevic and the presidential candidate, Branislav Lecic. Thus, the situation got to the point that the two sides do not recognize the decisions of the other and that practically someone who is no longer a member of the party is running for the first man.

It remains to be seen how this situation will be legally resolved, that is, whether the current organization will succeed in taking over the party.

The Ministry decides, the dissatisfied can go to the Administrative Court

What are the legal moves after the elections?

After the elections are held and the members elect a new president, the DS assembly is scheduled within seven days, which verifies the terms of the new president and vice presidents. Subsequently, the Ministry of State Administration and Local Autonomy receives a decision on the change of the party’s legal representative, all the collected signatures, evidence that the elections were held, as well as the party assembly – who scheduled, when, who participated … The party that is not satisfied with the decision of the Ministry can appeal to the Administrative Court.

Lecic: Lutovac is more a member of SZS than DS

Speaking about the possibility of the other party not accepting the election results, Branislav Lecic recently said in an interview with “Blic” that “there is no other party when the members decide.”

– Our differences are not personal but political. First, he would have nothing against supporting Lutovac even today if he dared to support the policy of the Democratic Party after two and a half years. You can no longer act as a member of the Alliance for Serbia than as chairman of the Democratic Party – said Lecic.

Lutovac: They are the Vučić puppet theater

Zoran Lutovac stated that no elections were called in the DS for September 26, as announced by the faction in conflict with the leadership, and that “no leadership will be elected in those elections.”

– Lečić, who lost convincingly in the party’s internal elections in 2018, agreed to play the lead role in Aleksandar Vučić’s amateur puppet theater play – Lutovac recently stated for NIN.
