The Speaker of the Serbian Assembly, Ivica Dačić, declared today that the arrested members of the criminal group Veljko Belivuk were left without powerful protection in some state bodies.
“They had a foothold, but obviously there were changes and their logistical connections failed,” Dacic said on Pink television, expressing the expectation that the investigation would show who these people were.
He added that it is not easy to carry out such an action because it involves a large number of people, but that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, when he spoke about the composition of the new government, promised to fight crime.
Dacic believes that the term “mafia” should be used because there are all the elements, stating that every mafia “catches like a leech for police structures, politicians, media, judges”.
As for the sniper found, Dacic assessed that “nobody buys a sniper who really likes weapons, but with some intention, and that must be determined by the investigation.”
He added that weapons arsenals were seized a few years ago near the home of Vučić, who was attacked in Srebrenica, and that attention should be paid to the president’s safety.
When asked how he commented on Belivuk’s statement that he went to Niksic “by invitation to help with the elections”, Dacic said he could probably help with pressure, blackmail, threats because “obviously those things were used in the previous period” , and that Milo Djukanovic Niksic is very important.
“I can’t believe they were involved in that, but maybe they have some special schools for the campaign,” Dacic said.
Speaking about inter-party dialogue, the assembly president said that one of the opposition leaders, Dragan Djilas, showed “dilettantism and malice” when he accused European leaders and the United States of “supporting the fascist regime in Serbia.” and evaluated as schizophrenia his country is a pro-fascist regime “.
Dacic reiterated that the inter-party dialogue should continue on March 1, with recognized negotiators, but also reiterated that European parliamentarian Tanja Fajom is partial and that her “factory configuration is on the side of the opposition.”
Topics and participants will be discussed in March, Dacic said.
