The canonically unrecognized Montenegrin Orthodox Church (CCP) called on political parties, non-governmental organizations, public, cultural and scientific workers, and Montenegrin associations in the diaspora to stand up in front of national and international organizations in defense of the dignity and independence of the homeland threatened by the annexation of Serbia.

The state was attacked by forces seeking to resolve its independence, so the amendments to the Law on Freedom of Religion will legalize the legal basis for the registration of 50 square kilometers of church land, 60 monasteries and 650 churches owned by Serbia. , reports RTCG. .

The aim, they believe, is to prepare the conditions for the re-annexation of Montenegro to Serbia and therefore to appeal especially to Montenegrin associations in the diaspora to do everything in their power to make international public opinion be aware of these facts and support the CCP in the country. .

They also addressed the deputies of the parties in power, who asked “before they raise their hands to approve the reforms to the Law, to reflect on the scope of the consequences of such a decision,” which would be a crime of treason to the own homeland.

At the same time, they exhorted citizens to meet in front of the Parliament of Montenegro on the day that the approval of the amendments to the Freedom of Religion Law is on the Assembly’s agenda and to protest against, according to them, “shameful and proposed occupation traitor “.

This invitation was sent after an extraordinary gathering of metropolitans, bishops, clergymen and monks of the canonically unrecognized CCP, held in Cetinje on Sunday.
