The dismantling of the Old Sava Bridge, which was scheduled for this year, has been postponed to next 2021, but its future, despite numerous controversies and double statements from citizens, is still uncertain!

Although it was almost done that it would be moved to dry land, to the Usce Park, and that within it there would be cafes and restaurants, according to the latest information, after its dismantling it will be dismantled and temporarily placed on a plot in the municipality of Palilula. You will stay there until your final destination is known!

– The dismantling works will probably begin next year, while at the same time a new bridge will be built in its place. The old bridge will be cut into three parts, transported by boat to its temporary location, so that it can be used again later, the city’s main planner, Marko Stojčić, told “Blic”.

Old Sava Bridge in Ušće Park

Let us remind you, during the citizens’ statement last year, there were two options: the winner, according to which the bridge should be located in the Ušće park, and the second should move between Ada Ciganlija and the New Belgrade blocks.

As the latter received fewer votes, it was decided to build a new pedestrian-bicycle bridge at that location, which should connect Block 70 and Ada Ciganlija. And whose drafts have already been presented to the public.

Stojcic confirmed that the New Sava Bridge will have two lanes in each direction, with a tram garden in the middle and a cycle path.

– It will be a new bridge that should start to be built next year, we do not know exactly when because the corona virus has slowed everything down a lot – said Stojčić.

It is not known exactly when the new bridge will be completed, but it is expected to be in 2022.
