A new kovid hospital with places for 500 patients was inaugurated in Krusevac, on the day that Serbia records more than 300,000 cases of coronavirus since the start of the epidemic.

„[Ovim] We will cover not only Krusevac, but also the northern part of the Raska district, a significant part of the Moravica district and the southern part of the Sumadija district, but also the Toplica district, “Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at the inauguration.

After the installation in Batajnica, which opened in early December, this is the second hospital that should ease the health system, which registers a large number of new cases of infection every day.

According to the latest data, there are more than 9,600 patients with Kovid-19 in hospitals in Serbia.

At the inauguration of the Kruševac hospital, President Vučić said that 600 doctors, nurses and other medical personnel would work there.

The new hospital will receive patients from Monday morning, and initially the doctors will work on it together with the employees of the Nis Clinical Center.

It should reduce the pressure on that center, where patients from this part of Serbia with a severe clinical picture were treated in the first wave of the epidemic.

Vučić stated at the opening that the hospital will have “150 monitors and respirators”.

“It is important that staff are protected at all times,” he said.

In the hospital, in addition to the intensive and semi-intensive care departments, there is also an admission triage department, a modern diagnostic center and a laboratory.
