Following the meeting, Vučić attended the signing of the Commercial Contract on the design and execution of the highway construction works – state road IB row no. 21 Novi Sad – Ruma, known as the “Frushkogorski Corridor”.
The value of the contract signed with CERBC is 606 million euros.
The Frushkogorski corridor will officially be a fast highway from Ruma to Novi Sad in a length of 47.7 kilometers, connecting the highways with Shido and Subotica.
In mid-September, the Serbian government approved a contract for the construction of the Fruska Gora corridor, within which a 3.5-kilometer tunnel through Fruska Gora will be built, which will be the longest tunnel in Serbia. In addition, another 1.8 kilometer long bridge will be built over the Danube.
The Fruska Roga corridor will have four lanes of 3.5 meters wide, but it will not have stop lanes, so it will not be run as a classic highway but as a fast track.
Currently, the Preljina-Požega highway in corridor 11, the Moravian corridor, i.e. the Preljina-Pojat highway, the Kuzmin-Sremska Rača highway to Sarajevo, the Ruma-Šabac highway and the Šabac highway are currently under construction. -Loznica, as well as the highway at the end of the ring road. around Belgrade from Ostružnica to Bubanj Potok.
The construction of the Frushkogorski corridor is important, because it connects with the direction of Ruma – Sabac-Loznica.
The Fruška Gora corridor will connect three municipalities: Novi Sad, Irig and Ruma, and will also solve the problem of the passage of trucks through Fruška Gora and Irig.
Zhang Xiao Yen, Director of CERBC, thanked the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the trust placed in his company.
The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Ms. Cheng Bo, said that it was a great honor for her to participate in the establishment of another cooperation between the Chinese company and the Republic of Serbia, together with President Vučić.
– Today is an important day for us and in the sea of difficult days, today I am proud that the contract for the construction of the Fruška Gora corridor has been signed. This is very important for the citizens of Novi Sad, but also for all the people of Backa, and it will shorten your way to western Serbia and western countries. The Irish crown will mean a lot to the people of Srem, it will be the longest tunnel, 3.5 kilometers long. In an hour, he will be able to come from Loznica to Novi Sad, President Vučić said.
– The Frushkogorski corridor will be open to traffic until March 15, 2024 – announced the president.
The president explained that this is an important day because we can talk about the general accelerated development of Serbia.
The president mentioned that the Kuzma-Sremska Rača highway is also being built and adds that the Čačak-Požega section is now under construction.
– What I wanted to point out to you especially, almost the whole part of central Serbia with all the major cities, we add Bor, Kladovo, Negotin … those are sewer pipes plus factories for sewage treatment. We have agreed that Kragujevac and Nis will be finished by the end of next year – said the president adding that it will cost 560 million euros and will be finished by the end of next year, and all landfills by October 1, 2023, and Kragujevac and Nis for 2021. He announced that out of 12 landfills, four will be in Vojvodina.
The president also announced the Belgrade – Nis fast railway.
– That is Serbia in 2025, that is what we base the future of Serbia on – said the President.
– I am very happy and I hope that next year we will have a sufficient growth rate to pay for everything and cover everything.
– They are wonderful things for our country and we can finance them.
