The story of the girl Emily (7), who died tragically at the beginning of the year after Eltiona Skana (30), a woman of Albanian origin, cut her neck out of pure peace in the park, went around the world. The disturbing event was also attended by his parents, and his father Mark has only now found the strength to tell what this tragic event looked like from his point of view.

On the fateful day, as the girl’s father says, Emily wore a navy blue jacket with red and white dots while riding a scooter at Queen’s Park in Bolton. Mark encouraged her to drive faster down the boardwalk, a large path that stretches across the grass downhill, as she looked around the park to see Sarah, her daughter’s mother. It was Mother’s Day, the day before Britain had its first quarantine caused by the corona virus, and Emily gave her mother a congratulatory message that morning. Sara was running through the park and Mark and Emily planned to watch their train before going for ice cream.

“I remember telling him to drive faster, to do the fastest lap because he was timing his time from one end of the park to the other,” explains Mike.

He said he and Emily agreed to go see their mother and then buy ice cream. What followed was a scene that turned a quiet day in the park into an unimaginable horror that destroyed the lives of Mark and his family forever.

Emily saw Sarah running down the hill and asked Mark if she could catch up with her, to which he replied in the affirmative. But when Emily rushed over to Sarah calling her name, the figure sitting alone on the bench jumped up, grabbed Emily by the “neck” and slashed her throat with a knife. Sara, who had headphones in her ears, did not see or hear Emily, so she kept running, unaware of the scene happening not far from her. Mark, who was nearby, thought that his daughter had fallen off her scooter and that the person holding her was actually trying to help her until the woman passing by started yelling that the girl had been killed.

She immediately ran towards her injured daughter, and the person who attacked her, meanwhile, threw her to the ground and began to flee.

“I ran over to Emily. I was absolutely terrified. I knew it was very bad. People don’t survive attacks like this. The only thing that echoed in my head was the fact that I would lose my daughter. I called her and begged her not to leave me. “explains the shattered father.

According to him, when he ran to his daughter, she was still alive and struggling to breathe.

“It was horrible. Something I don’t want any parent to see and experience. I go back to that event every now and then. I try to resist but I can’t. I keep remembering how she tried to catch her breath. Seeing a child in” I thought she was dreaming, that this was not happening to her, not to my Emily, “says Mark, who immediately invited his ex-wife to come.

Passersby brought a T-shirt with which they tried to stop the bleeding until the arrival of the air ambulance, which transported the unfortunate girl to the hospital. Unfortunately, half an hour after the reception, Emily passed away.

Last week, Eltiona Skana, the murderer of little Emily, a paranoid and schizophrenic person of Albanian nationality, was convicted of murder.

As a result of this crime, Mark also handed over responsibility to the hospital employees for the mentally ill in whom Skana was being treated, because they allowed a dangerous woman who was diagnosed with psychosis to kill her daughter. She is surprised that the medical staff did not go to any lengths to find out that she was abusing drugs, and that they were not surprised that in the last three months she called the hospital only once.

“They knew she didn’t respect her therapy, but they let her go home and take her alone. It’s absurd. It was a time bomb,” Mark said.

He is also angry at the report for which the health system denies all responsibility, stating that the crime could not be assumed and that there were no preventive measures to prevent it.

“I want the chilling story of what happened to my daughter to be told. She was killed on a holiday, Mother’s Day, in front of her parents. I don’t want people to feel sorry for us, but they need to be listen to this story. ” said the defenseless father.
