The Competition Defense Commission announced that it has officially initiated the investigation procedure of the violation of competition in the market for the sale of motor vehicles against several companies.
According to the website of the Commission for the Protection of Competition, this is Porsche SCG Belgrade, where an unannounced investigation was carried out, Autokomerc Belgrade, Autocentar Manik – ACM Preljina and Bros Auto Nis.
During the analysis of the conditions of competition in the markets for the sale and service of motor vehicles for 2017, 2018 and 2019, the Commission declared in the contracts presented for Audi products / cars the presence of a provision according to which the importer determines the prices for additional vehicle sales. “Such provisions can distort and even eliminate price competition at the retail level, that is, the price competition that could exist between distributors of this brand if they independently determined prices at resale,” the statement said.
The commission, as they add, will examine in particular whether the companies against which the proceedings were initiated, in the previous five years, determined the prices of Audi products / cars for resale, which would be a violation of the jurisdiction of Article 10 of the Law.
The Commission for the Protection of Competition invites all persons who have data, documents or other relevant information that may help to establish the factual situation in this procedure to send them to the address of the Commission for the Protection of Competition, Savska 25 / IV, Belgrade.
