After the end of the coronavirus epidemic, the city of Belgrade will create a memorial forest in one of Belgrade’s existing parks in memory of the victims of this virus, Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić told Pink Television. According to him, trees will be planted in the memorial forest, exactly as many as there were victims of the coronavirus in Serbia.

“In that way, we will remember all the people who died, but we will also remember the heroic struggle waged by the state, as well as the health system and other services, police, army, public services and citizens who did good deeds. We will remember this times Unfortunately, we had victims, but thanks to the state’s serious approach, we saved thousands of lives and managed to be a state with far fewer victims, “said Vesić.

He thanked TV Pink journalist Mladen Mijatović who proposed this idea to the City Assembly.

Speaking about rebuilding Sava Square, Vesić said the way it will work has completely changed in that part of the city.

“The largest pedestrian plaza in Belgrade is being built here. The area will be about 12,000 square meters, and tram, bus and car traffic will run along the edges. We managed to free up a portion for car and bus traffic as well as for the trams from Karadjordjeva to Nemanjina. ” So now, when you come from Old Tram Bridge, you can turn right, which was not possible until today, and go to Nemanjina without any problem. Trams 6, 7, 9 and 14 have started again and the 12 “tram line has been renewed. Vesić said.

According to him, in the next month, tram traffic from Savska to Nemanjina, as well as car traffic, will be released in two days.

“First, in the next few days, the bus traffic will start, and after the relocation of the sewage pumping station, the traffic will go along the edges. In the middle it will be the largest square in Belgrade, it will They will plant 250 new trees soon, and in the middle there will be a 23-meter-tall monument to Stefan “Nemanja. It is being built at the suggestion of President Aleksandar Vučić. With the eviction of the bus station and the renovated railway station, the area will look completely different, “Vesić concluded.
