The citizens of Novi Sad gathered tonight in front of the building where journalist Dinko Gruhonjići lives and painted over the hate graffiti written last night by unknown persons on the building’s facade and the entrance door to the building.

About a hundred citizens of Novi Sad and Dinko Gruhonjić’s friends spontaneously gathered in front of the barn tonight and brought brushes and several buckets of paint with which they painted the graffiti.

There were messages at the entrance of the building.: “Pi * do Ustaška ovo nije tvoj grad ni zemlja” and “Smrade konjušarski”, next to which “Celtic cross” and “swastika” were drawn, which are Nazi symbols, and with that was written “Serbian hero Ratko Mladić” .

The act of vandalism followed the VOICE article titled “Novi Sad – A National Chauvinist Province Celebrating Genocide?” in which the problematic content of the graffiti appearing in Novi Sad is analyzed.

The act of vandalism was condemned today by many opposition parties and certain non-governmental organizations, and the Independent Association of Journalists of Vojvodina, in which Gruhonjic is the director of the program, reacted. Many of its representatives and members participated in tonight’s graffiti painting.

NDNV reported the case to the competent prosecutor’s office and the police.
