Further development of relations between the two countries is in line with both Chinese and Serbian interests.

This is how the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade commented to “Novosti” about whether there are points of the agreement to normalize economic relations with Pristina, signed in Washington, for the official Beijing, which are debatable for Chinese interests and policy.

There was special speculation in the public that China might resent us for the ninth provision of the agreement, on the 5G network. In other words, Serbia agrees to ban equipment for the 5G network purchased from “unverified providers”, as well as to withdraw such equipment, if it is already in use.

When asked if Serbia can continue to count on China’s support in international organizations, when it comes to defending our national interests around Kosovo and Metohija, the Chinese embassy stated categorically:

Beijing officials, including Ambassador Chen Bo, have repeatedly said that the Chinese side respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, understands and supports the legitimate demands of Serbia on this issue, and appreciates the efforts of the Serbian side to find a solution. of engagement through dialogue.
