Some 60 people led by current DS Vice President Dragan Rakić stormed the Democratic Party headquarters in Belgrade, where they smashed the ballot boxes and tore the ballots, “Blic” learned.
Today elections are held in the DS and the only candidate for the presidency is Branislav Lecic.

Today, the Democratic Party is organizing direct elections according to the system: a member has one vote for the president, and Lecic, as the only candidate for the presidency of the Democratic Party of a current of this party, voted at polling station 38 in the Municipal Board of DS Savski Venac. Lutovac, who leads another current within the DS, addressed the public around 12 o’clock, estimating that “part of the DS wants to seize the party by force and turn it into a coalition partner of Aleksandar Vučić.”
Lecic appeared in front of the break room around 2 p.m., but was not allowed in.
Before that, Rakić arrived at the headquarters accompanied by a large number of people. There were several people at the venue, including the president of the Organizing Committee for the elections, Vida Ognjenović.
– You are a false vice president of the party. You’re talking to the members of the DS Main Board, Vida Ognjenović told Rakić.
Heavy words fell. Rakic said they were in the premises illegally and that they were violating the statute, as if they did not want to leave the headquarters anymore.
Balša Božović says for “Blic” that he is surprised by what Zoran Lutovac did.
– I couldn’t even imagine that Zoran Lutovac could send thugs who would insult Ms. Ognjenović in the rudest way and call her Vučićevka and Vučić’s mercenary in front of everyone, and of course I’m especially surprised that they physically attacked members of the Electoral Commission Maja Lađanski and Maja Simanić. . They broke boxes, material. Here came people who rarely know here, some from Ruma, from the outskirts of Belgrade, there are some from the Municipal Administration of Sabac … It is not clear to us what is happening, but this has forever tainted the DS, and sorry the president allowed himself to end that party in this way – says Bozovic for “Blic”.
By the way, Branislav Lecic is the only candidate for the presidency of the Democratic Party, so, as previously stated by Vida Ognjenovic, chairman of the organizing committee of the elections in the DS, the expanded composition of the organizing committee for the party elections was agreed .
