The parliamentary group “Aleksandar Vučić – for our children” proposed to the competent parliamentary committee two candidates for a member of the REM Council: Olivera Zekić and Miloš Gajović, Cenzolovka has learned.

On Tuesday, the Culture and Information Commission of the National Assembly will determine the list of candidates for members of the Council of the Electronic Media Regulatory Body (REM), on which, as Cenzolovka discover, ser Olivera Zekić and Miloš Gajović, proposed by the parliamentary group “Aleksandar Vučić – for our children”. In addition, the session will decide who will be the candidates for another member of the REM Council, who is chosen on the proposal of ecclesiastical and religious organizations.

So, in addition to former REM Council member Olivera Zekić, the list will also include Miloš Gajović, the son of Aleksandar Gajović, the former secretary of state for information in the Ministry of Culture and Information (Minister Maja Gojković has yet to announce the name of the new secretary of state).

According to the biography he submitted, Miloš Gajović is 24 years old and graduated from the Faculty of Culture and Media Megatrend in June this year. Olivera Zekić, if elected, would be her second term on the REM Council. She was elected deputy for the first time on July 24, 2015, also at the proposal of the competent parliamentary committee. His term expired in July this year, and since then the Board of Regulators has been working with eight members instead of nine. Only in November, the Board opened the procedure for the election of a new member, despite the fact that, according to the law, it should have been carried out six months before the expiration of the mandate of Olivera Zekić, that is, in January this year to latest, Cenzolovka says.

Ecclesiastical and religious organizations have the right to propose another candidate for member of the REM Council, in place of Aleksandra Janković, whose term ends on March 3, 2021.
