World Dumpling Day was celebrated for the first time, and it was established on an initiative that was launched from Serbia almost a month ago and had the support of fans of this traditional dish from up to 41 countries around the world.
World Meatball Day aims to preserve meatballs in their traditional form with plums, but also to motivate everyone who deals with meatballs to further develop and improve them.
There are three symbols in the date to mark Dumpling Day, first, because the end of August is the time when plums ripen, so September can generally be considered the month of dumplings, second, two balls of dough next to each other have the shape of the number eight (8) and third, when the number eight in a horizontal position we get the sign of infinity.
Belgrade dumpling lovers have launched an initiative to establish a World Dumpling Day, through a petition that has been opened on Instagram and Facebook. In just 10 days, more than 1,700 supportive comments from up to 41 countries around the globe supported this idea. Thus, the dumplings, as one of the most traditional dishes in the world, will be next for the first time tomorrow with all the dishes and drinks that have written their days on the world calendar.
