The trial of Ninoslav Jovanovic (46), better known as the Malcano barber, who is accused of kidnapping and abusing a 12-year-old MK girl from Suvo Do at the end of last year, continued yesterday with the questioning of the doctor of the Clinical Center in Nis and the psychologist. Due to the protection of the interests of the minor, the trial takes place behind closed doors, without the presence of the media and the public.
The evidentiary procedure continued and the doctors of the Nis Clinical Center were examined, as well as the expert psychologist who acted as a member of the commission of the Belgrade Special Penitentiary Hospital, who carried out the psychiatric examination of the accused. The next main trial is scheduled for September 16, 2020, said Nis High Court spokeswoman Irena Gusic.
Yesterday’s hearing lasted about three hours, and the doctors who treated the abused girl after she was rescued from the clutches of a dangerous pedophile, as well as a psychologist who participated in the Malcano barber’s expertise, testified about it.
As “Blic” finds out, behind closed doors in the courtroom, the defendant’s defense attorney Ninoslav Jovanović had an objection to the expert’s conclusion that the defendant committed the act in a healthy state. In support of this, he stated that prior to this fact, a prosecution proceeding was conducted against the barber Malčanski, where the expert determined that his “sanity was reduced, but not significantly”.
– The expert responded in the search that it was possible that the act had been committed in such a state, however, that it was determined based on reliable parameters that he kidnapped and abused the girl (12) in a sane state. She stayed with her findings in their entirety. After that, the defense attorney proposed a new experience of the defendant’s sanity, which the court rejected, says a source from “Blic” who is familiar with the case.

According to the information available to us, the analysis of Jovanović’s mental state at the time of the kidnapping and abuse of the girl does not indicate the existence of psychopathological content that diminishes his ability to understand the meaning of the act and manage his actions.
– There is no mental illness, retardation, disorder, alcohol or other addiction. Therefore, the experts did not propose a safety measure for the treatment. In addition, the experts determined that she is capable of being a participant in the process against her – says the source of “Blic”.
This means that the defendant Ninoslav Jovanović cannot go mad and expects to be punished for receiving treatment in a psychiatric institution.

Jovanovic was brought to trial yesterday five minutes before the start of the trial, which was scheduled for 11 am, with a van from the Nis Penitentiary. With a mask and a visor on his face and handcuffs on his hands, with strong security measures – accompanied by five guards – he was taken to the Palace of Justice through the back door from the patio, so that the media could see and film him only for a moment and from a distance. After the end of the main trial yesterday, he was returned to the KP Institute in Nis with a van.
As “Blic” wrote, Jovanović is accused of kidnapping a twelve-year-old MK girl from Suvo Do on December 20 last year in Brzo Brod, near Niš, whom he tricked into getting into his car by pretending to be the new teacher of his school.
He was arrested on January 5 in the Malča cemetery, and then the investigation against him was initiated for the criminal acts of kidnapping and rape of a minor, for which a penalty of at least 10 years in prison or chain can be imposed. life. Aleksandra K., the mother of the abused girl who attended yesterday’s hearing, left the court building with a lawyer at around 2.30 pm. A large number of journalists waited for Aleksandar in front of the Palace of Justice, but unlike previous hearings, now she did not give a statement on the recommendation of a lawyer, who did not want to comment on anything related to the trial.
