Bulatović forgot the law and admitted: Directors of public companies are elected by the party

Although the Public Companies Law is clear in prohibiting the influence of politics on the election and work of directors, the former mayor of Nis, Darko Bulatović, said that the director of NišStan was nominated by the party. He said that this is a practice, and that the director cannot be guilty if he does bad things, but that the responsibility is from abroad.

The suspicion that Serbia has become a party state, and that the laws are just a formality, was partially confirmed today by the Speaker of the Nis Assembly by SNS Councilor Bulatović, speaking of the current head of Nis Stan, Miroljub Cupic, writes Southern news portal.

This director was appointed at the time I was mayor. He was nominated by the party. The director cannot be held responsible if something goes wrong, Bulatović said.

They tried to correct him from the hallway and remind him of the law by adding “commission, commission.” “Commission. Party. I’m not getting into that”, the former mayor did not understand what they were suggesting.

He continued with his story, saying that he was not going to say which party the director was from, because he did not want to “deepen the discussion.”

But he continued with his story of responsibility.

“This example is not special. There have been many such examples today and in the past. I just want to draw attention to responsibility. I have been talking about it for four years. If you take responsibility for naming someone, then you are the person responsible, not him. He is the person responsible. Criminal if there was an act. And politically, it is known who is responsible, “said Bulatovic.

Since NisStan has been under the control of the SPS for years, in coalition agreements with the DS and the SNS, and prominent party officials in Nis were also directors of this company, the Socialist Igor Novakovic took the floor with the intention of refuting Bulatovic’s claims that directors are appointed. parties, according to Southern News.

“I want to say that the Socialist Party of Serbia is not behind the appointment of this director. That this director was legally elected in accordance with the law, that he was elected by the city commission. He evaluated, elected and so on. And that he has no support from the SPS. Nor does the SPS support him, “Novakovic said.

The Public Companies Law clearly establishes that the director of a public company whose founder is a local self-government “is appointed by the body that determines the status of the local self-government unit, for a period of four years, on the basis of a competition public”. In Nis, this body is the Commission for the election of directors of public companies.

And everything is preceded by a contest of clear conditions for a director position in each company individually.

Likewise, it is clearly established in the Law that the director must not be a member of a political party or that he has been assigned a tenure in the party.
