Prime Minister Ana Brnabić stated in the Serbian Assembly that the state budget proposal for 2021 shows the focus on health, infrastructure and environmental protection.

He noted that the government is doing everything possible to “get the vaccine as soon as possible” from producers, both in the East and the West, and said it fears there is an even greater gap between rich and poor countries when it comes to buying vaccines. .

Brnabic noted that he had important meetings these days and that today, in an online conference with the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, he heard that up to two-thirds of the members of that chamber said they were planning new investments, which more than half expected. higher production growth and 30 percent of companies are planning new jobs in Serbia.

Brnabić also announced the opening of the “Dedinje 2” hospital and the start of work on the “Tiršova dva” Children’s Clinic.

The Prime Minister says that, despite the crisis, there has never been a bigger budget for capital investments, because the economic dynamics and the improvement of the quality of life of citizens must continue.

If we have a good realization of the budget for 2021, then next year in 2022 we will have a road to Požega, Brnabić said in the assembly debate on the final budget account for 2021.

We will also complete the first section of the Moravian Corridor, we will have a road to Kruševac, we will complete the Novi Pazar-Tutin road and I think we will complete much of the Kuzmin – Sremska Rača section, he said.

Brnabic spoke about projects in the environment, energy sector, especially the acceleration of works in the Turkish current through Serbia, which should be completed in January 2021. He noted that the ratification of the loan from the European Investment Bank of 65 million euros to connect schools will probably be before the deputies next week, because the plan is for them to be connected and digitized by September 1, 2022.

Never higher allocations for environmental protection

Prime Minister Ana Brnabić affirms that the budget to preserve the environment has never been higher than that proposed for 2021. According to her, three clear objectives of her government have been set: the construction of a sewage treatment plant, solving the problem from landfills and the best possible air quality.

“I hope that by the end of this year we will complete the wastewater treatment plant in our first big city, where there will be such a plant, and that is Krusevac,” Brnabic said during the parliamentary debate on the state budget proposal. Then, as she said, “next year, we should move to two bigger cities”, which are Belgrade and Nis, and “we are planning more Čačak and Kragujevac”, which are “big, huge investments”.

He stated that the focus is also on solid waste management: cleaning of illegal and “wild” landfills and expansion of toilets, as in Uzice, and construction of new ones.

“Air quality is also a priority. Last week we launched a new large capital project, desulfurization of Block B of the Thermal Power Plant ‘Nikola Tesla’, and we are already building filters with desulfurization of its Block A,” said Brnabić.
