Prime Minister Ana Brnabić stated that to date, 351,000 citizens of Serbia have requested vaccination against the coronavirus, which she says is a “pretty good” response. He added that it is unrealistic that pandemic measures are further mitigated in the crisis staff session, that is, that the working hours of catering facilities are extended.

Brnabić told TV Prva that Serbia is currently the country that has “the largest number of vaccines in its possession” that the state paid for each vaccine it purchased and that so far more than six million euros have been spent for that purpose.

“We do not receive anything as a donation or as a gift, we pay for everything. We donated two million euros to the European Commission for Vaccine Research, we paid about four million euros, in advance for 1.4 million doses through the Covacs mechanism, in advance for the first phase of the Pfizer vaccine, for the 50 percent of the Sputnik V vaccine contingent out of a total of two million doses that we ordered. “We got very good prices for both the Chinese vaccine and the Pfizer vaccine,” Brnabić said.

He said that a mass vaccination begins today, the aim of which is to vaccinate as many Serbian citizens as possible as efficiently and quickly as possible.

“Vaccination is voluntary, no one will suffer any sanction if they do not receive the vaccine. This is the only way to defeat the virus. We are opening the first point for mass vaccination at the Belgrade Fair, today we expect around 600 members of the army to be vaccinated, and the largest cities will start tomorrow, ”said the Prime Minister of Serbia.

According to her, all health centers are ready for vaccination, another 250,000 Sputnik V vaccines are expected for the weekend and new quantities of Pfizer vaccine are expected next Monday.

He added that citizens should not choose which vaccine to receive based on “geopolitical” criteria, stating that any vaccine whose use has been approved by the Agency for Medicines and Health Products is good and safe.

“I did not choose the vaccine, Pfizer was the first to arrive in Serbia. If it was a Chinese vaccine, I would get it, if it were Russian, I would get it. “He would certainly receive any vaccine approved by the Medicines Agency,” the prime minister said.

It is unrealistic to extend the working hours of catering facilities.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, has assessed today that it is unrealistic that the anti-pandemic measures will continue to be mitigated in the session of crisis personnel for the fight against the corona virus, that is, that the working hours of the catering facilities.

“I do not think it is realistic that these measures are mitigated today.” Today we will open that issue, so we will discuss what are the parameters that still need to be reached so that the catering facilities are open until 10 at night, “said Prime Minister.

He stated that it is true that there is a certain decrease in the number of those infected and killed by coronavirus, but that other conditions must be met in order for crisis personnel to decide on a further relaxation of measures.

“We will open the matter, but it will not happen today,” he said.
