“The current convocation of the Serbian Assembly is a picture of the internal state of Aleksandar Vučić. We will not shy away from proposing our own candidate for his opponent in the presidential elections, but we will withdraw if a better proposal comes up. For me, the ideal candidates are Professor Milo Lompar, as one of the leading Serbian intellectuals, and Dejan Bodiroga, who is an exceptional gentleman and a patriot, ”said the leader of the Dveri movement, Boško Obradović, in a New Year’s interview for Nova.rs.
When asked if there is something he is not proud of and what he thinks he was wrong about, he said he was in a hurry in several situations and that there was a surge of adrenaline during the conflict with the current government.
“It happened because the degree of humiliation is so great that it was simply not possible not to rebel. “I protested, I never crossed the border and tried to justify everything I do,” he said.
Obradović also said that the Serbian Assembly has become a kind of political reality and a display of hate speech against anyone who thinks differently from this government.
“In the previous convocation, we, the opposition deputies, were the targets, and now other public figures who have dared to criticize the government have been attacked. The parliamentary rostrum has become a place that is constantly used to trample on the dignity of every political opponent of the government, and that is a methodology unknown in modern democracies. All of this that we are currently seeing in Parliament is expected to look exactly as it is. “Behind that puppet theater, there is the one who pulls those puppets and who is the creator of that environment, that is why I emphasize that the current convocation of the Serbian Parliament is an image of the internal state of Vučić and his way of dealing with politics” he added.
According to him, the opposition must conduct a serious public opinion poll to determine what exactly citizens are saying: whether they should go on an electoral list and have a candidate, or if they should go in several columns.
“If you force a list, then there can be an exit of votes and that can only benefit the regime. Perhaps then it is better to do two or three different columns so that no opposition vote fails. ambitions, plans and mutual thoughts. However, it is not excluded that we have a common presidential candidate, no matter how many opposition columns there are. The condition is that the person includes a corpus of values in which we all agree and in which they do not exist ideological and political differences. If we had Zdravko Krivokapić here, I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t support that person, “he added.
According to him, there are several personalities of this type.
“We will not run away from having our own candidate and we will withdraw in favor of a better one.” Regarding the authority they have in national circles, I would like to especially point out Professor Milo Lompar, as one of the leading Serbian intellectuals. There are people from the world of art and sports who have this capacity, like Dejan Bodiroga, who is a Christian gentleman and patriot. They are people who have a full life and the current government cannot blackmail them. They don’t have blemishes in their biographies and they have clear views on some key national and state issues. “Those who care most about democracy can support them, as well as those who care about the nation, as well as those who care about the nation and democracy,” Obradović concluded for Nova.rs.
