The number of covid-19 virus cases is increasing in the region and record numbers are being recorded in almost every country in the region.
What is worrying is the fact that officially the second wave or the third peak has not yet started, and it is not yet possible to predict what will happen when the covid-19 virus and the seasonal flu mix.
Neighboring countries are struggling with a growing number of cases.
In the last 24 hours, another 151 people fell ill with the corona virus in Serbia, which is 30 more than the number of patients confirmed the previous day, it was announced today on the website of the Ministry of Health. Two people died, bringing the total number to 760. 6,139 people were tested, a total of one million and 179,721.
In the past 24 hours, 33 new infected coronaviruses were confirmed in Kosovo and Metohija, while no deaths were reported, the Pristina Institute of Public Health announced today.
Slovenia
In the last 24 hours, 387 cases of coronavirus were registered in Slovenia, which is a new record since the beginning of the epidemic in that country, and 3,665 people were tested. For the first time, the rate of positive cases is over 10 percent and one person died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 160. In Slovenia, a record number of hospitalized patients was recorded: 131, which is the highest so far.
Croatia
A record number of cases was also recorded in Croatia: 542, which is the highest number since the start of the pandemic, according to 5,939 tests carried out. There are 361 patients in the hospital, 27 of whom use respirators.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, a record 453 cases were also confirmed in one day, based on 2,288 tests. Of that number, 296 positive cases were confirmed in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 155 in the Republika Srpska.
Hungary
A growing number of patients are also found in Hungary, where the virus was detected in 932 people in the last 24 hours, while 21 people died, which is the highest number of deaths in a day since the start of the pandemic.
North macedonia
In northern Macedonia, 2,140 people were tested in the last 24 hours, of which 364 tested positive for the corona virus, which is the most new cases in a day since the start of the pandemic, announced today the North Macedonia Ministry of Health. In the same period, three people died and most of the new cases occurred in Skopje, Strumica, Tetovo and Kocani. There are 414 patients in hospital treatment, which is also the highest number since the end of July. Health Minister Venko Filipče warned that the situation is very serious and that the whole world, including Europe, is introducing stronger measures to suppress the corona virus.
Montenegro
In the last 24 hours, 210 newly infected coronaviruses with the virus and one death were recorded in Montenegro, the Institute of Public Health announced.
Austria
In Austria, 1,209 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the last 24 hours, which is a record since the start of the pandemic. The number of active patients reached 10,014, of which 506 were hospitalized and 107 in intensive care, seven more than yesterday. In the last 24 hours, eight people died, bringing the total death toll to 838.
Bulgaria
A record number of new coronavirus cases, 437, have been recorded in Bulgaria in the last 24 hours, and 11 more have died, official data shows. Since the start of the pandemic in that country, 22,743 cases of covid have been confirmed, including 873 deaths.
Romania
Also in Romania, which has been the first in the region since the start of the pandemic in terms of the number of cases, the number of infected is also growing, and in one day 3,130 new cases were confirmed. The largest number of tests is carried out in that country, so in the last 24 hours, 31,191 people were tested, a total of two million and 598,262.
Greece
436 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Greece, and six people have died as a result of infections, the Greek Public Health Organization announced today. The number of patients with devices has also increased: 91 of them have been intubated in hospitals.
Albania
In Albania, 169 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, which is the highest number of cases in a day since the start of the pandemic. 971 people were tested and four died.
Apart from the region, the number of patients is growing in many European countries: Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, which until recently had the lowest incidence rate, but also in the rest of Europe.
