Ljiljana herself confirmed how honored she was to dance a few steps with the now president of America.
– I am very happy to have danced with Bjaden. I am glad when I dance with any Skadarlija guest, and especially with a high official, the actress tells us at the beginning of the conversation.
What intrigued him, he says, was her story of Skadarlija, a bohemian neighborhood, which she introduced to him in English.

– I was very interested in hearing Skadarlija’s story. I told him that famous writers, actors and officials from all over the world sat on this street, that people sat there from morning to morning, that they spent unforgettable days and nights in Skadarlija, that everyone was welcome and that it was customary to sing. and he dances. And then I did exactly that: I sang and asked him to the dance. He said goodbye with a smile and immediately danced! He did not hesitate at all and danced right there, in the middle of the street, it seems to me in front of “Three Hats” – remembers Ljiljana.

He danced, he says, two stanzas to the song “Kraj jezera” by Zvonko Bogdan. That was enough for Ljiljana to realize that he was a good dancer.
– Biden has a nice attitude and dances very well. There was no trampling – says the actress with a laugh and adds that that moment really stayed in her pleasant memory, and above all she remembers the positive reaction she produced with it.
When asked what it’s like when she knows she danced with the man who is the president of the United States today, Ljiljana says that the feeling is strange, but that it is a confirmation that she is in the right place, doing the right job, and obviously , the correct way. .
– I convey a kind of welcome and joy, and it reaches out to people. I danced with the great Nikita Mikhalkov and it was one of my most beautiful and favorite waltzes. I danced with Bob Beamon, multiple world long jump champion, with Bob Rafaelson, screenwriter of the movie “The Postman Always Calls Twice” … They are important, important people, like Joseph Biden, and people who passed through Skadarlija, because which makes me even happier to be there and do what I do, Ljiljana tells us.
