Specific jewelry, slanted eyes, long silk dress. You can’t help but notice it. As she says herself, everyone who knows her thinks she is from China, but this girl comes from Russia.

Gulnara Khudaiberdi says she is actually from Turkmenistan and has spent more than half her life in Russia. “My name in translation would mean pomegranate flower,” he told TV Prva.

Guljnara has lived and worked in Belgrade for five years and is an economist by profession. As she says, due to circumstances, she came to Serbia. He made many friends and fell in love with our city, but what stands out the most, besides everything, is the Serbian cuisine.

“It’s a beautiful country, I really like food and nature, and the people are a bit funny. They are happy to have a good time,” he explained with a laugh. “I think they love me, because I have a lot of Serbian friends,” he said.

Sometimes he eats Serbian food, but as he says, it is a habit. “I also do some Russian cuisine. I make pilaf and here, for example, I make sauerkraut sarma,” he says in fluent Serbian.

What makes their culture different is the luxurious costumes and jewelry. Guljnara also nurtures its tradition here, which can be seen in the jewels that have a special meaning.

“Most of the dresses are sewn in red with hand embroidery around the neck and they are interesting. I mostly wear that stylish dress and jewelry,” she explains. All jewels are made of silver and represent a protection against spells.
