“The Serbian government is preparing an amendment to the law in which the police, the communal militia and other inspectors will have the authority to implement the measures,” he said.

He told Prva TV that whoever organizes parties after 11pm is committing a crime, not a misdemeanor.

Vesić mentioned that the situation is now under control, but that does not mean that it cannot be changed in five or six days.

“A facility that does not respect the measures will be closed for a long time, multimillion dollar fines will be paid and someone will be held criminally responsible.” Vesić.

Vesić said that anyone can report an official of someone who violates the measures in public transport and does not wear a protective mask.

“We are not the worst, these things are happening in other countries. You saw it in the metro in France,” he said.

He said people in nursing homes are protected and that very few of those over 65 are among the newly infected.

“We saved people with these prohibitions. That decision of the President and the Government of Serbia saved the lives of thousands of people and retirees,” he said.

According to Vesić, all measures are respected in schools and kindergartens.

“Schools and kindergartens have shown that we can organize the running of classes,” said Vesić.

As he said, for now, there will be no suspension of cultural or sporting events.

He also mentioned that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, always has papers on his desk with data on the number of infected people, as well as on the amount of medical equipment that Serbia has at its disposal.
