Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić announced today that a meeting with construction companies will be organized around Christmas in Belgrade and that he will invite them to help rebuild the houses destroyed by the earthquake in Majska Poljana, near Glina.
Vesić said that the meeting will be attended by representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Metropolitan of Zagreb and Ljubljana, Porfirio, with whom, he said, discussed the situation in parts of Croatia affected by the devastating earthquake.
“We will assume the obligation to start rebuilding houses with these construction companies, first in the town of Majska Poljana, which suffered the most from the earthquake.” Around Christmas, we will organize a meeting with the companies and ask them to renovate one or two houses each, “Vesić said.
He said that the Belgrade City Council paid 100,000 euros to the account of the Zagreb-Ljubljana Metropolitanate for the purchase of mobile units for residents of the villages around Petrinja who were left without a roof over their heads and who, he said, sleep in cars .
Vesić stated that the metropolitan’s draft account number will be published and will appeal to all who can pay money for the renovation of houses and the purchase of mobile units.
“A mobile unit costs around 3,300 euros, please, all companies that can get involved and provide assistance,” Vesic said.
