Lawyer Vladimir Gajic has no doubt that the police knew immediately what happened that night. He also believes that the lack of reaction from the police is the reason why the suspect in the beating, Ivan Kontić, is probably now in Montenegro, of which he is a citizen.
“It is an error of the police. They cannot justify it with anything. So, they knew the same afternoon that this happened, if it was at night. They were informed, they had time to take action,” believes Gajic.
The beaten young man is now receiving treatment at home. He was admitted to the Novi Sad Emergency Center with serious bodily injuries. Gajic believes that he and his family were silent about this out of fear.
