Bajatović cannot get rich and the state cannot get poorer

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, Zorana Mihajlović, claims that the expulsion of the director of “Srbijagas” Dušan Bajatović from the meeting in the Serbian Government was an act of patriotism.

In explaining the unusual incident, he emphasizes for Kurir that energy is a sector in which the state and citizens should make money from it, and not that people get rich from it.

– I know there will be several attacks against me and attempts at media manipulation. I’m used to that, because while I’m fighting it, do you think someone will just let it go and stay quiet, and their profits will be in jeopardy? It is important that citizens believe in the Government of Serbia and in me, that I will continue to fight for this sector and make it a leader in Serbia, because it is in the interest of our country and our citizens. I mean, I said it all. I don’t really care who the director is. As Deputy Prime Ministers and Minister of Mining and Energy, it is my duty and patriotic obligation to work in the interest of my country and our citizens – said the minister.

He also says that he will not hide that there are many problems in “Srbijagas”, especially for its subsidiaries – “Transportgas”, “Gastrans”, “Ropes” …

– There is only one interest: energy stability in Serbia. And that applies to all companies, EPS, EMS, Resavica and others. Energy should bring us profit and profit, not loss. This is a sector with a lot of potential, the State must win with that, and therefore the citizens, and not the individuals who win and enrich themselves, and energy to impoverish themselves, because then both the State and the citizens become impoverished – warned our interlocutor.

Let us remind you, the Minister expelled Bajatović in the meeting with the directors of public companies on Saturday for lack of respect for the institution of the Government of Serbia, so he had to leave the room accompanied by security. The director of “Srbijagas”, otherwise a member of the SPS, did not answer our calls yesterday either.
