According to the media, a torch was thrown among those gathered and the ultra-rightists are trying to stop the party.

The police took a man who ran to the Center, got on stage, interrupted the introductory speech and began to scream.

The young man who arrived with the festival guests shouted “Take me home.”

The festival is open despite the incidents. In front of the entrance to the Cultural Decontamination Center, in addition to the cordon of police teams and journalists, right-wingers met, singing songs dedicated to Kosovo and Metohija and waving flags.

Among those gathered was the president of the Association of Families of Kidnapped, Missing and Murdered Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, Sima Spasi, in front of banners with the faces of Serbs, mostly civilians, victims of Albanian criminals.

There is also the leader of the Serbian right, Mia Vaci, as well as the president of Zavetnik, Milica Đurevi Stamenkovski, with a group of supporters and members of that party.

A part of the Cultural Decontamination Center is covered with photo prints from the 2004 pogrom about Serbian Orthodox churches.

Milica Đurevi Stamenkovski said the festival was a policy of provocation and that the party would advocate for a similar festival to be held in Drau next year.

“The Serbian ethnic group in Kosovo and Metohija is the most threatened in Europe, and the lowest percentage of the population in a territory is the percentage of return of the Serbian people to Kosovo and Metohija,” he said.

A group of several dozen young people also attend the protest rally, carrying the banner “As Serbian children are beaten in Kosovo, Belgrade is allowing shame again.”

A police cordon is in front of the demonstration. Earlier today, members of the police blocked several streets in Belgrade as a precaution, as this is a festival that provokes reactions and protests every year, as announced for today.

SRS supporters also announced the protest.

Reacting to the protests of certain right-wing groups on the occasion of the festival, the representative of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, Fiona Jelii, says that as a young person you must witness the protests against a cultural event that promotes peace, the exchange of opinions and The cooperation.

“Unfortunately, the years go by and the same scenario is repeated. On the other side of the cordon that protects us, there are the strongest opponents to reconciliation and normalization of relations,” he said, and announced the Youth Initiative for Human Rights.

He added that there is a lot of dissemination of lies and propaganda that sows death and destroys our two peoples.

Kutrim Kolii, Kosovo’s Integra representative, said it was absurd how much we did not know about each other and that “the festival is a way for the people of Kosovo and Serbia to meet, make friends and reconcile.”

Maja Stojanovi, executive director of the Civic Initiative, pointed out that there is no dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo at the table in Brussels, but only at the Merdita Festival, which opens all the most important topics for both nations.

“Only this festival talks about missing persons, war crimes and cultural heritage and Deans, and there is no such communication between those in power. This is not heard in the general public and that is why there are right-wing groups that protest because they do not listen to the correct message. festival, “said Stojanovieva.
