Automatic rifles and bombs seized, arrest in Sremska Raca

BELGRADE / SREMSKA RAČA – Members of the Ministry of the Interior, Directorate of Criminal Police, detained Ђ. G. (1964) by Sremska Rača due to the existence of grounds to suspect that he committed the crime of illicit production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosives.

The action to suppress the smuggling of illegal weapons was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republika Srpska, and police officers from the two countries simultaneously searched several locations in Serbia and the Republika Srpska.

During the search of the house and other premises in Sremska Rača, the Serbian police used the suspect Ђ. G. seized three automatic rifles with associated frames, three M-75 offensive bombs, two M-52 defensive bombs, as well as a small amount of ammunition for automatic rifles.

The suspect was detained for up to 48 hours and will be taken to the Belgrade Superior Prosecutor’s Office, along with a criminal report.
