Part of the roof collapsed today around 9 am in the classroom during classes and injured a student at the “Jovan Trajković” School of Economics and Commerce in Zrenjanin.
The ceiling collapsed in the classroom during the second class when there were students in it. Later, a student asked for medical help and fortunately received only minor bodily injuries.
– Some of the plaster fell off the ceiling. The classroom is located on the third floor of the attic. During the fall from the cast, a student was slightly injured. Although the student had no visible injuries, the parents were notified immediately, insisting that a medical examination be performed. It was said that they were minor injuries and that the student was fine. After the accident, the students, together with the teacher, left the classroom safely, said the principal of this school, Dragoslava Golušin.
It adds that the competent authorities, the Zrenjanin Police Administration, the building inspectorate, the Occupational Safety and Health Agency and the Education Inspectorate have been notified. The classroom is closed for your use, until the entire roof is repaired and its safety verified.
The incident was reported to the Zrenjanin police around 10 a.m., whose members carried out an on-site investigation. At the General Hospital “Djordje Jovanovic”, they said that the student requested medical help, that minor bodily injuries were found and that she was discharged.
Milan Jovanov, the head of the Inspection Department of the Zrenjanin City Administration, says that the construction inspection went to the field, prohibited the use of that classroom and ordered a check on the condition of the roof.
