– He wanted to cool off with those apples while he was lying in the hospital.
He loved the apples of Nis the most, and for decades he only ate them while serving in that city as Bishop of Nis.
Patriarch Irinej was admitted to the hospital on November 4, after it was confirmed that he was infected with the coronavirus. Although he had no symptoms or problems, he was hospitalized because of his age.
