At the girl’s funeral, her friends threw 15 balloons into the sky at 3.15pm!

Minja Draganić (15), who died a month after she was seriously injured in the horrible Dorćol fire in Belgrade, was buried yesterday, symbolically, at 3.15 pm in the New Bežanija cemetery. Hundreds of people, family members and schoolmates gathered to bid her farewell to eternal rest, and the classmates wore white roses and red heart-shaped balloons.

At the head of the sad and endless column were Minja’s friends, who carried a cross, a picture of her and a Minnie Mouse plush. When the white casket was removed from the chapel, the violin played a sad melody.

The moment they lowered the coffin to the crab, the violin sounded again, and 15 red balloons, in their 15 years, flew from the hands of a friend to the sky and headed towards the sunset. At that moment, sighs and groans broke into the cemetery, because at the funeral of the unfortunate Mina, only the stone did not cry.

Minja Draganić was not baptized and, above her hand, a friend made a prayer instead of a speech. – Minja is not baptized, but we pray that God will accept her into the kingdom of heaven – said a friend, while everyone present wept.

Let us remind you, the fire in Dorćol’s apartment broke out on October 27, the day of the Good Friday celebration, when the celebratory candle fell on the table and lit it. Minja was alone in the apartment at the time, supposedly taking a shower. The girl tried to save herself by going out on the terrace, and was saved from the torch by brave painters, who heard her ask for help. Pavle Gavura with four companions, on the neighbor’s terrace and tied with a rope, they lowered Minja to a safe place and handed her over to the doctors.

She fought like a lion

Minja fought like a lion for life for a month, and had burns on almost 50 percent of her body.

– He had three serious surgeries, his skin was donated by up to six people, including his friends. Unfortunately, there was an infection in the transplanted skin, her condition suddenly worsened, and she passed away last Tuesday, the source recalls.
